Course Overview
THE WATER STAGE
Water turns without losing its force. The movement starts low and carries all the way through.
On a flat range the target is always straight ahead. Real problems show up beside you and behind you, and a sloppy turn with a gun in your hand sweeps everything in the room.
Turning and Shooting teaches the footwork for 90 and 180 degree turns, when the gun comes out of the holster, and how to arrive facing the target with a stable stance and a safe muzzle.
This is class 03 on the Handgun Level 1 roadmap. Your lower body does the work here, and your draw has to be solid before you add the turn.
Training Focus
Primary Course Outcomes
90-Degree Turns
Step and pivot left or right and arrive in your stance, square to the target and ready to shoot.
The 180-Degree Turn
Turn to face a threat behind you without crossing your feet or losing your balance.
Turning From the Holster
Look, turn, then draw, so the muzzle never covers anything you are not willing to destroy.
