Materials Needed

  • Handgun (semi-automatic).
  • 500+ rounds of ammunition.
  • Holster, magazines, and pouches.
  • Eye and ear protection.
  • Comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear.

Course Details

  • Cost: $400
  • Duration: 8 Hours (4 hours morning, 4 hours afternoon)
  • 8am-6pm
  • Ammunition Requirement: 500+ rounds (participants must bring their own).

Course Goals

  • Enhance practical handgun handling skills under varied conditions.
  • Build confidence in engaging targets while under stress.
  • Prepare participants for real-world scenarios with advanced drills and techniques.

Morning Session (4 Hours)

1. Warm-Up and Review (30 minutes)
  • A quick recap of the previous lessons skills (dry fire, speed reload, IA/RA drills.
  • Dry fire drills for reinforcing safety and handling fundamentals.
  • Warm-up live fire exercise focusing on accuracy and consistency.
    1. 25-yard line qualification.
2. Drawing from a Holster (1 hour)
  • Improve upon the efficiency and speed of your draw to time with shots on target.
  • Re-holster like a pro, not a noobie…
  • Practicing under time pressure to simulate real-world scenarios.
  • Hit the Sub-1.9 second  JM Training standard for drawing from the concealed holster to accurate shots on target.
3. Shoot vs. No-shoot 
  • Quickly and accurately process information in high-stress situations.
  • Learn about the hands, waist, face methodology for confirming or denying threats.
4. Shoot, Move, Think (1.5 hours)
  • Techniques for engaging targets while moving forward, backward, and laterally.
  • Footwork drills for balance and stability during movement.
  • Challenge your problem solving ability when safely and effectively using your firearm
  • Live-fire scenarios integrating dynamic movement.
    1. Scenarios for in car, at home, holding baby, shooting around friends.
    2. Shooting thru vegetation

Afternoon Session (4 Hours)

1. Use of Cover and Concealment (1 hour)
  • Identifying cover versus concealment and using both effectively.
  • Practicing behind simulated barriers (e.g., walls, barrels, vehicles).
  • Engaging targets while minimizing exposure.
    • Shooting thru walls
    • Shooting thru doors
2. Force on Force Training 
  • Utilize state of the art training tool like Simunitions weapons and training systems to see exactly how you compare to your peers.
  • Get exposed to the fluidity of an unknown environment and position yourself to best secure your own safety.
  • Understand the “Oh Sh*t” factor, and train yours to benefit you.
3. Advanced Marksmanship (1.5 hours)
  • Engaging multiple targets at varying distances.
  • Techniques for transitioning between targets quickly and accurately.
  • Shooting at unknown distances, with a focus on target acquisition and accuracy.
    • All done from the concealed carry draw
4. Introduction to Low-Light Shooting (1 hour)
  • Basics of shooting in low-light or no-light conditions.
  • Proper flashlight techniques:
    • Harries technique
    • FBI technique
    • Neck index technique
  • Practical drills to simulate low-light engagements with live fire.
