Course Overview
SHINKEN SHOBU
Level 4 was Void — the rifle and the pistol as one, without hesitation.
Level 5 is shinken shobu: a fight with real swords. It is reserved for tactical training because of the reality of the profession. You are past the void, and you knowingly go in.
Everything before this was about you as a shooter. Level 5 is built for small units and law enforcement officers: it is about the mission, the team and the people counting on you to be ready.
You build the loadout first: gear, radios, rifle, handgun, belt, optics, clothing, lights, storage, and night vision, IR and thermal. Then you put it to work: responding to an incident, responding to contact, urban contact, operation planning and integrating with the agencies on scene.
Across the Alpha and Bravo blocks you'll work all eighteen Level 5 skills. Then you are evaluated against the standard. Complete both blocks with a passing score and you are Level 5 qualified.
