Stop Guessing. Start Progressing.
One of the biggest mistakes new shooters make is signing up for a class they aren’t ready for—or wasting time in a class they have already outgrown. Effective firearms training isn’t about random drills; it’s about a structured, progressive path to mastery.
The JM Training Skill Assessment We have developed a proprietary evaluation tool to analyze your current capabilities. Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned tactical shooter, this assessment will:
- Identify Your Baseline: Are you a Level 0 (Fundamental) or Level 2 (Performance) shooter?
- Expose Your Gaps: Reveal specific weaknesses in your weak-side manipulation, low-light operations, or medical readiness.
- Build Your Roadmap: Generate a custom checklist of the exact courses you need to take next.
Note: For users under 18, a parent or guardian must be present to verify eligibility.

Understanding Your Proficiency Score
Our curriculum is divided into four distinct tiers. This shooter placement test places you into one of the following categories to ensure you are training safely and effectively.

Level 1:Movement & Application
- Who this is for: Shooters who are safe but need to build speed and autonomy.
- The Focus: Manipulation mechanics. You will master the “Tap-Rack-Bang” immediate action drill, magazine reloads, and shooting from barricades.
- Key Curriculum: Geometries of Fire, Medical (Chest/Abdomen), and Remedial Action Drills.
Level 2: Asymmetrical Performance
- Who this is for: Competent shooters ready for stress and movement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why do I need a skill assessment? Training scars happen when you attempt advanced tactics without mastering the basics. Our firearms skill assessment prevents this by ensuring your foundation (grip, stance, safety) is solid before adding stress or movement.
What happens if I fail a level? You cannot “fail”—you simply find your current training ceiling. If the assessment places you at Level 1, it means you have mastered Level 0 and are ready to begin the Level 1 Training Roadmap.
Is this assessment for concealed carry? Yes. While this covers tactical applications, the fundamentals of draw speed, accuracy, and legal accountability (Positive ID) are critical for anyone carrying a concealed firearm.
