Course Overview

More Than a Box-Check Renewal

Your Illinois CCL is good for five years — and renewing it takes one 3-hour class with live-fire qualification. Most renewal classes are a PowerPoint and a handshake. We use the evening to actually sharpen you: current Illinois law, what has changed since your last class, and real coaching on the range while you qualify.

Choose the All-In package and we handle Illinois for you — we submit your renewal paperwork to the state, backed by our “first-time approval or we fix it free” guarantee. Prefer to log in and file your own renewal? The Basic package covers the class, the range fee, and everything you need to qualify. Either way, you train with instructors who carry every day and coach shooters for a living.

FAQ

Common Questions

Do I need to bring my own handgun?
No. Rental handgun and ammo are included with the All-In package, or $31 with Basic. Eye and ear protection and your target are included either way.

What should I bring?
A government ID, your current CCL and FOID card, comfortable clothing, and closed-toe shoes — you will be shooting the same evening.

Is this class approved by the Illinois State Police?
Yes. It meets the full 3-hour Illinois CCL renewal requirement, including the live-fire qualification.

Not sure if you are in your renewal window?
Call or text 708-726-0946 and we will check your dates and get you booked on the right class.

What if I need to reschedule?
Call or text 708-726-0946 at least 24 hours in advance and we will move you to another date — as many times as you need, with no reschedule fee. We do not issue refunds, so your payment stays on your account until you take the class.

My license already expired. Can I still renew?
If it expired within the last year, yes — the 3-hour renewal class is all you need. If it has been expired more than a year, the Illinois State Police in practice require the full 16-hour course again. Call or text 708-726-0946 with your expiration date and we will tell you which class you need before you pay for the wrong one.

How many hours of training does an Illinois CCL renewal require?
Three hours, not the full 16. This class covers the required three hours and includes your live-fire qualification.

How much is the renewal class?
Two options. All-In 5-Year Renewal — $125: the 3-hour class, range fee, rental handgun and ammunition if you need them, your renewal paperwork submitted for you, eye and ear protection and a target, and our first-time approval guarantee. Basic 5-Year Renewal — $78: the class, range fee, eye and ear protection and a target, and you file your own renewal. You can hold a seat with a $50 deposit and pay the balance before class.

When should I start my renewal?
Before your current license expires. The Illinois State Police have 90 days to issue if you submit electronic fingerprints and 120 days if you do not, and that clock does not care when your card runs out. Six months ahead is comfortable.
